Story
A purely improvised live meeting of sitar, kora, voices and tabla, filmed at sunset above the Mediterranean Sea.
At sunset on the cliffs of Arsuf Kedem, YoYo Sitar, Tomer Yehieli, Aakash Singh and Rani Chaibi shape two songs into one spontaneous musical conversation. “Ja Ja Re,” a traditional Hindustani classical bandish by Sadarang (Naimat Khan), is sung here in Hindi by Aakash. “Nanfoulé,” composed by Ousmane Kouyaté, is sung by Tomer. Sitar and kora carry the melodies while voices and tabla connect Indian and West African musical traditions in a completely improvised session.
