Kartikeya Vashist
Flute (Bansuri)
Music has been part of Kartikeya Vashist's life since childhood. He began learning and performing at the age of ten, and the flute became his primary voice for expression. His foundation is in Indian classical music learned through the guru-shishya parampara, and he traces his development through guidance from Sri Sujit Mondal, Tagaram Bheel, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Sameer Rao, and Dr. L. Shenkar.
From that classical grounding, his sound has expanded toward folk traditions, world music, background-score work, workshops, and cross-cultural collaboration. What stays central in his own framing is the idea of music as conversation: between breath and silence, between cultures, and between people. In the YoYo Sitar graph, that makes him a strong creative collaborator whenever bansuri enters a project that bridges tradition and new expression.
