Alexandre Wielemans

Alexandre Wielemans is a musician specialising in West African instruments, with deep roots in the Manding griot tradition. He plays ngoni, kora, and djembe — instruments that carry the oral and musical heritage of West Africa into contemporary settings. His collaboration with YoYo Sitar on Djeliya / Laage Re Nain brought the traditional Manding theme Djeliya into dialogue with Indian classical raga, forming the Afro-Raga core of the Evening Rise EP.
