LiveSession

Wasolu x Sitar - Gine Mousso

World Fusion, Live Session Released

Story

A one-take live meeting where sitar, ngoni, Bambara voice, and tabla turn Gine Mousso into an Afro-Raga conversation.

This updated version of "Gine Mousso" makes the framing clearer: not generic fusion, but a live conversation between musical systems. Saki carries the Wasolu melody on ngoni and Bambara voice, Amarjeet Saluja grounds the pulse on tabla, and Yoav Fekete answers on sitar with raga phrasing, glides, and call-and-response.

Recorded live in Bhagsu (Dharamshala) during the monsoon, the room itself stays inside the piece: mist, rain, and hillside echo all become part of the listening experience. That is why the release now reads less like a crossover label and more like an Afro-Raga statement, where Indian classical and West African string traditions meet without flattening each other.
