Freedom

Contemporary sitar fusion Released

Story

A song shaped from a quiet lockdown moment in the Himalayas into a celebration of freedom as something personal, collective, fragile, and alive.

"Freedom" was born in a moment of stillness during the Covid lockdown. Stranded in a small Himalayan village in India, I went camping with a sitar and recorded myself playing, surrounded by nature, far from noise, rules, and borders.

Listening back later, I realized the recording carried something deeper: a raw sense of freedom, personal, human, and fragile, standing in contrast to a world in lockdown.

The song grew from that feeling.

It was further shaped by life inside the Beyond community, where I experienced how true freedom can exist not just individually, but collectively. This video became a celebration of that spirit and a reminder that freedom is something to be felt, protected, and shared.

In a time when freedoms can disappear quietly and suddenly, this piece is an invitation: to dance, to move, to sing, and to remember what freedom feels like.
